Kazakhstan’s largest bank, Halyk Bank, and the private foundation Almaty Air Initiative, known for its efforts to combat air pollution in Almaty, have joined forces to implement joint environmental initiatives aimed at improving air quality in the southern capital.
The corresponding Memorandum of Cooperation was signed today by Umut Shayakhmetova, Chairwoman of Halyk Bank, and Arsen Tomsky, Co-Founder of the Foundation and CEO of inDrive.
“Our goal is to help make Almaty a comfortable and safe city to live in. This is a challenge that cannot be overcome alone. It requires the combined efforts of residents, business, science, and government.
The partnership with Halyk Bank opens new horizons for our foundation. It is not only a contribution to environmental protection but also a powerful and inspiring example of a mature, responsible business approach to contributing to society.
We have a lot of work ahead — but only by joining forces can we ensure that Almaty once again becomes a city where people can breathe freely,”
said Arsen Tomsky, CEO of inDrive and Co-Founder of the Almaty Air Initiative Foundation.
